Accompanies the exhibition, from June 19 to August 12, 2001, of drawings covering more than six centuries by artists ranging from Dieric Bouts and Grünewald through Tiepolo, Fragonard, Boucher, Guardi, Gainsborough, David, Ingres, Degas, Renoir, van Gogh, Cézanne, Seurat, Redon, Gauguin, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Beardsley, to Kollwitz, Chagall, Klee, Mondrian, Matisse, and de Kooning.

The catalogue is written by Ann H. Sievers, Associate Curator of Prints, Drawings and Photographs at the Smith College of Art, along with Linda Muehlig and Nancy Rich, with contributions by Kristen Erickson and Edward J. Nygren.
