On Monday, October 15, 2007, The Frick Collection hosted its annual Autumn Dinner.
This year's dinner honored Anne and John Marion. Together, the Marions have made an indelible mark on the cultural life of our nation, and it is with deep appreciation that we recognize their contribution to our artistic heritage and their long-time support for The Frick Collection and the Frick Art Reference Library.
John Marion, America’s most famous auctioneer of fine arts and antiques, has been one of the most visible and highly respected figures in the art world. He retired as Chairman of Sotheby’s in 1995 and is now the Honorary Chairman and is a member of its Advisory Board.
Anne Marion is the Chairman of Burnett Oil Co., Inc, and the President of the Burnett Foundation, which provided pivotal support for the endowment of the Frick Art Reference Library. She is a trustee of the Kimbell Art Foundation and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and the founder and Chairman of the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe. Anne is an honorary member of the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Fort Worth and the Western Heritage Center in Billings, Montana. She is Director Emeritus of the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City and has served as a trustee of The Museum of Modern Art here in New York.
Nearly 300 attended, and over $1,400,000 was raised in support of The Frick Collection.
