Taking a cue from the Frick’s critically acclaimed presentation of Antea, a mysterious
Renaissance portrait by Parmigianino on loan from the Museo di Capodimonte, the Young Fellows of The Frick Collection, with Elie Saab and Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry presented a gala Un Ballo in Maschera. Held annually in support of the museum’s Education Program, the Frick’s Young Fellows Ball raised over $250,000, and has been named consistently as one of the Parties of the Year. Un Ballo in Maschera was met with a particularly high degree of interest, selling out well in advance in terms of ticketing, while costume shops all over town reported experiencing an unprecedented run on masks.
The Event Chairmen were Byrdie Bell, Lydia Fenet, Tinsley Mortimer, Coralie Charriol Paul and Elisabeth Saint-Amand. Elie Saab was the Honorary Chairman, Ivanka Trump was the Vice Chairman, and Marianna and Juan Sabater were the Benefactor Chairmen. The Founding Chairmen were Marina Rust Connor, Lauren du Pont, Nathalie Gerschel Kaplan, Martha Loring, and Aerin Lauder Zinterhofer.
DJ Anton began spinning records at 8:30pm, continuing throughout the evening. Guest danced and lounged on elegant modern gold banquettes.
Moët Hennessy USA generously provided wines and spirits for the evening; among the offerings were Moët & Chandon champagne “Mini Moet” flutes and a specialty cocktail made with Belvedere vodka.
Gift bags provided by Christie’s included an Elie Saab silk scarf and look book, a catalogue from Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry, Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow, Fekkai Coiff Magnifique Finishing Crème, and notecards from The Frick Collection. |
